This project component focused directly on enhancing vegetable production capabilities within local communities. Agrifarm Uganda Ltd. engaged beneficiaries through hands-on activities, including training sessions on best practices, transplanting seedlings, proper weeding techniques, and the overall cultivation and tending of various vegetable crops such as onions, okra, tomatoes, and cabbage. These activities took place at several sites, including the Yayikoyi Community Smallscale Irrigation site and Maaji III Small-scale irrigation subproject in Adjumani District, the Palorinya West vegetable growing site in Obongi District, and the Kinyomozi Pilot Scheme Project in Kiryandongo District. The aim was to build practical skills and boost local food production.
