About

Addressing environmental conservation and resource needs, Agrifarm Uganda Ltd. undertook the Establishment & Maintenance of Woodlots and Plantations. This initiative involved setting up new tree plantations and ensuring their long-term health and survival. Key activities included demonstrating proper planting techniques to beneficiaries, consistent maintenance practices like weeding and gap filling (replacing seedlings that didn’t survive), and monitoring progress by assessing tree survival rates, which reached 90% at sites like Kegeru in Obongi District after gap filling. Specific project sites included the Unit B woodlot and Kegeru site in Obongi District, and the Maji 1c – Extension woodlot in Adjumani District.
